Crafting the Future Museum: Insights from UX Research and Focus Groups
Context:
In this project, we developed a deep understanding of current and anticipated experiences of diverse target groups. We distilled valuable, overarching design insights and pinpoint design considerations specific to each department. We conducted focus group analysis and build user persona and user journey. I worked alongside two UX researchers on this. This comprehensive analysis brought to light crucial design factors that the entire team needs to consider. Additionally, we uncovered unique insights relevant to various departments—such as marketing, programming, design, and engineering—highlighting tailored strategies and improvements informed by our focus group findings.
Decoding Individual Focus Group
Our approach begins by individually coding the transcripts of each focus group, laying the groundwork for a deep dive into the data. After coding is complete for a group, the team collaborates to merge these codes into coherent themes. This process is repeated for each focus group, ensuring a detailed and collaborative analysis that culminates in a rich synthesis of themes.
Integrating Insights Across Groups
To uncover insights that span multiple focus groups, we first review the themes of each group independently, identifying significant, shared contexts. This is followed by a team discussion to refine these insights into high-level understandings that address both broad and specific team needs. This phase is crucial for connecting disparate themes into a comprehensive overview that informs our collective perspective.
Sharing Comprehensive Reports
Finally, we disseminate the findings' impact by sharing comprehensive insights with the entire team through reports and presentations. Each contributes both specific insights tailored to individual teams and broad considerations that span across teams. To guarantee precision and coherence, we engage in a stringent process of cross-checking, validating, and peer-reviewing. This approach ensures the delivery of highly actionable insights and significant findings, fostering informed decision-making and strategic actions.
